Our culture
The Cypriot Academy has sought to rediscover and revitalise aspects of Cyprus’s traditional culture, including sayings, stories and songs. We provide here some examples. Steeped in history, Cyprus has so much to offer culturally and we know we’ve only scratched the surface.
We invite others to contribute to this rewarding exercise by researching, compiling and submitting their own examples. We particularly welcome contributions in language varieties of Cyprus other than the principal Cypriot vernacular (on which we have thus far tended to focus).
